Hundreds turned up this past Sunday afternoon for our annual community-wide Chanukah celebration at the Jewish Learning Centre. The dreidel moon bounce was a big hit for young families, as well as the Chanukah grams, glow-in-the-dark dreidel crafts and facepaint. Bernie Lofchik, a successful businessman and entrepreneur and long time supporter of Chabad-Lubavitch, gave opening remarks. Bob Freedman, CEO of the Jewish Federation, was honoured with lighting a giant glow in the dark Menorah, built by Bermax Furniture & Design.
Following the indoor celebrations, everyone was treated to a hot cup of cocoa while exiting the building to watch a spectacular display of fireworks. Close to 30 vehicles participated in a police-escorted menorah parade through River Heights and Tuxedo, led by a stretch limo and our dedicated menorah mobile.
