Dear Parents and Guardians,

Around the world, teaching our kids about healthy eating has become an important part of their education. Good nutrition is a crucial part of their growth and development. It gives them more energy, improved health and greater focus in school.

In conjunction with International Chefs Day on 20 October 2019, the Culinary Federation Winnipeg and Nestlé are hosting a fun and healthy cooking experience for kids, as part of the Nestlé Healthy Kids program.

This event will take place on Sunday Oct 27 2019 at 1:00pm at the  Jewish Learning Center, 1845 Mathers Ave .

We would like to invite your child to participate in our 2019  How Healthy Food Works workshop where we will show how food affects  our bodies internally, what different foods do for us and why we need them.

We will use this opportunity to teach children about healthy eating by letting them be creative with food. With the chef’s input, education and assistance, the children will create recipes out of healthy foods, helping to teach the kids How Healthy Food Works.

In addition to providing kosher supervision for this event, The Jewish Learning Centre staff will also share the importance of keeping healthy in Jewish law and tradition, Participants will also gain an understanding and appreciation of the specific blessings recited before eating and some tips on Kosher cooking.

Though all are welcome, this program will be primarily geared to families with children aged 4-10.

We look forward to hosting you at this fun and educational workshop!

If you are interested in enrolling for this event, please confirm number of participants by contacting the Jewish Learning Centre at 204-339-8737.
