New course explores the origins and evolution of Jewish tradition

Beginning this May, the Jewish Learning Institute (JLI) will present Judaism Decoded: The Origins and Evolution of Jewish Tradition, a new six-week spring course which will uncover the unique formula that has sustained Jewish tradition for millennia.

With the world changing at a rapid pace, Judaism Decoded tackles the intricate questions of whether rabbis can unilaterally change Torah, and how Jewish tradition reacts to new circumstances and modern-day dilemmas.

World-renowned speaker Mrs. Rivkah Slonim to speak in Winnipeg at Kosher Night Out

International renowned speaker and author Mrs. Rivkah Slonim will be in Winnipeg on Monday, May 18, 2015, to offer a fast paced, honest, contemporary look at Mikvah; one of Judaism's most central --yet widely misunderstood-- Biblical commandments. Discover the spiritual, metaphysical, physiological and practical aspects of intimacy from a Jewish perspective and what it means to connect at this deepest of levels.

The lecture will be followed by a Q&A session, book signing, and a delicious buffet of Sushi & Wine.

At 'Kids in the Kosher Kitchen', children in Kindergarten through Grade 3 are invited to enhance their culinary skills and discover the joy of Kosher cooking.
