Winnipeg Celebrates the Most Influential Rabbi of Modern History

This May, Chabad-Lubavitch will present Paradigm Shift: Transformational Life Teachings of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, a new six-session course by the Jewish Learning Institute (JLI). The course will be offered in commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the passing of "the Rebbe," Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson of righteous memory--a visionary religious leader who inspired countless individuals during his lifetime and established Chabad’s global network of educational, social, and religious institutions to revive the post-holocaust Jewish landscape.

All Night @ Sinai

The holiday of Shavuot marks the day the Torah was given to us amidst a blaze of Divine revelation 3326 years ago. Join Jews throughout the world in observing the millennia-old custom of conducting an all-night vigil dedication to Torah learning on the first night of Shavuot.

Our Shavuot night learning program will feature two fascinating lectures, developed by the world-renowned Jewish Learning Institute and presented by Rabbi Avrohom Altein. The first lecture "Secrets in Stone" will begin at 8:30 PM followed by Mincha, and the second lecture "The Talmudic Take" will begin at 9:30 PM followed by Maariv, kiddush and light refreshments, with plenty of food for thought!

Enjoy a Sundae on Wednesday

The Rebbe's Birthday

Last Friday, 11 Nissan, was the birthday of The Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, of righteous memory.

Born in the Ukrainian-Russian town of Nikolaev in 1902, the Rebbe spent the century's and his childhood in pogrom-ridden Czarist Russia, the 20's battling the Stalinist attempt to eradicate Jewish life in the Soviet Empire, the 30's in Berlin and Paris. In 1941 he escaped Nazi-occupied Europe and settled in New York, where for the next 50 years he transformed the very fabric of Jewish life in every corner of the globe.
