Car Menorah Parade

Share the joy and optimism of the holiday en masse by joining our annual police-escorted car menorah parade. The parade will depart at 6:15 pm from the Jewish Learning Centre and will take approximately 30 minutes.

A Chanukah class on the nature of miracles through the lens of Kabbalah

Will the real miracle of Chanukah please stand up? A look at the parts of the story our Sages chose to commemorate turns up some glaring omissions. Life is a miracle, but sometimes it’s not enough. It takes a special kind of miracle to impart the message of Chanukah—both then and in our lives today.

Light refreshments will be served. 

Yud Tes / 19 Kislev Farbrengen

The 19th day of the Hebrew month of Kislev is celebrated as the “Rosh Hashanah of Chassidism.” It was on this date, in the year 1798, that the founder of Chabad Chassidism, Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi (1745–1812), was freed from his imprisonment in czarist Russia. More than a personal liberation, this was a watershed event in the history of Chassidism, heralding a new era in the revelation of the “inner soul” of Torah.
