COVID-19 UPDATE:

In light of the recent developments of the Coronavirus outbreak and following recommendations from the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC), we have decided to take the Challah Bake online.

Winnipeg's Virtual Challah Bake will be streamed live on Wednesday, March 18, starting at 7:00 pm. We are partnering with Chabad.org - the world’s largest Jewish website, to take our Virtual Challah Bake global! They will be broadcasting our program on their Facebook Page, reaching thousands of women around the world.

The annual Challah Bake is a community-wide event sponsored by the Jewish Learning Institute and made possible with support from the Jewish Foundation of Manitoba. The event is being produced by Cherry Tree Productions and designed by In The Most Delightful Way, with help from a very dedicated group of volunteers.

Please encourage your sister, mother or daughter to celebrate this powerful mitzvah together, from the comfort and safety of their homes. Together let's turn this into something positive despite all odds!

The program will feature a live Challah mixing and braiding tutorial, round table discussions, exciting trivia and an amazing lineup of leading Jewish female singer song-writers. Whether you are a skilled challah connoisseur or never baked in your life, the #virtualchallahbake will leave you feeling uplifted and connected.

We have prepared beautiful Challah kits including all the necessary ingredients, and a custom apron and bag with special refreshments. These kits can be picked up at the Jewish Learning Centre, between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm, on Tuesday and Wednesday.

If you wish to cancel, please call the office at 204-339-8737 or email [email protected] at least 48 hours before the event and we will issue a full refund.

At a time like this, when tension and stress may be elevated, the fabric of community keeps us strong. Let us channel this energy to increase in acts of compassion, support and connection.

Now, let's get baking!
