Handmade Matzah is always better
This year we are importing close to 400 LB of handmade Shmurah Matzah for Winnipeg’s Jewish community! Become a part of this exciting tradition and enhance your Seder table with your very own box of Matzah. Baked fresh in NY with the highest standards in kashrut, tradition and taste, the Matzah is round, kneaded and shaped by hand similar to those eaten by the Jews when leaving Egypt over 3300 years ago. Place your order here and it will be available for pickup at the Jewish Learning Centre, from Monday, April 3, 2017.
Remember to sell your chometz!
It is prohibited to possess chometz on Pesach and any chometz left undisposed must be sold to a non-Jew. Since there are many legal intricacies involved in this sale, a rabbi acts as our agent both to sell your chometz to the non-Jew on the morning before Passover, and also to buy it back the evening after Passover ends. Simply submit the online Delegation of Power to Sell Chometz form by Sunday, April 9, 2017.
Model Matzah Bakery
PJ Library & Chabad-Lubavitch invite you to bake your own matzah on Sunday, March 26 at 10:30 am, at the Jewish Learning Centre. Give your child the experience of a lifetime! Thresh wheat stalks, winnow the chaff, grind the grain in a hand powered stone mill and sift out the bran to make traditional hand baked Matzah the way our forefathers did 3300 years ago in Egypt.
Power Lunch Downtown
If you work downtown, please join us on Thursday, March 30 at MLT Aikins for a delicious kosher 'chometz' lunch and uplifting Jewish study. Explore the meaning of spiritual freedom and the timeless message of the Exodus. Drawing inspiration from the weekly Torah portion and Jewish holidays, JLI's Lunch and Learn series are relevant, insightful and a refreshing break in the midst of a fast-paced work day.

The film will be followed by a delicious buffet of Soups & Salads to nourish body, mind, and spirit. Presented by the Jewish Learning Institute (JLI) as part of its 2017 Kosher Night Out Lecture Series. Make it a Kosher Night Out!
